The Scottish Programme for Government 2023-24, published today, makes no mention of the prohibitions on pavement parking, dropped kerb parking and double parking. The Government had previously said these would be brought forward by the end of 2023.

I suppose it could have just slipped their mind...

The Programme for Government seems to be more evolutionary than revolutionary, compared with last year's. It also restates support for dualling the A9 north of Perth, dualling Nairn to Inverness, then goes on to say just how critical climate change is: "the stakes could not be higher", and "we will continue to drive down emissions in a draft Climate Change Plan, with bold action across transport...".

Since I've also been reading Transport Scotland's route map to achieving a 20% reduction in car kilometres, I'm not sure how we square this if we carry on building roads (and, I suppose, houses).

Their actions certainly make it look like the word "down" was an error in the publication.
