My bike is a red GSR, it was made in a land afar.
It was rescued near dead, from somebody's shed.
And I use it instead of a car.

One morning while I was out riding,
A van had a go at side swiping,
There was fear in his eyes
When I stopped at the lights
And gave him a bloody good hiding!

Cyclists in the north of our city
Demand our regret and our pity
    Whilst the Innocent's brill
    And the Meadows all thrill
The paths in the north are all sh.. shambolic.

There once was an audax to dunbar
On paper it didn't seem too far
    The wind it did blow
    It made the hills slow
And to my brevet card I said "au revoir"

Whilst the north can be subject to yobbery,
    (and, in Pilrig, regretfully, robbery),
    the south's two great fails
    (Bingham and Wester Hailes)
    should preclude latitudinal snobbery.

If people from Bingham are rueing
    This afternoon's CCE viewing
    They may think it just
    Even fun, if you must
To give old Wingpig a good shoeing

If the Binghamites wish me be shoed...
If they found prior limericks rude...
    They might halt their abuse
    through wee motorbike use
of the path where their dogs have all pooed.

"We don't care for that, down our way"
    Said the Morningsiders with dismay
    "Those northerly routes
    of precarious commutes...
    Our society's in disarray!"
