Cyclists welcome new speed limit in Dublin city centre
Cyclists have welcomed the extension to the 30km/h speed limit which came into force in Dublin city centre this week. Dublin Cycling Campaign say the reduction in the speed limit will not only help to make the area safer for all road users, it will also make it more attractive for pedestrians and cyclists, as the zone contains most of Dublin’s bike sharing stations.
Meanwhile in London this week, Westminster Council rejected calls for 20mph speed limits. Find out more about the benefits of 20mph speed limits on the campaigns section of our website.
