Previously this was in an empty shop unit in Ocean Terminal. It was a brave and bold attempt to make a business out of the fickle world of skateboarding and BMX.

In spite of the fact that boarders and bikers are usually young and seldom well off, it worked.

The activities of local boy Danny MacAskill made the tricks and skills visible to a wide world and created imitators and aspirers.

It is perhaps no coincidence that part of runaway You Tube success was due to the excellent camerawork and filmmaking of Dave Sowerby.

Dave was involved in the design of the facility in Leith - and the later one at Saughton. He did some of tracking shots of Danny from a moving skateboard.

The free one in Saughton Park might have meant the end of TP, but that is outdoors, doesn't have organised training or a café.

The new TP is in a shed on the edge of Craigmillar (just off the Innocent) - might be worth a CCE visit! How to get there.

Is that the unit that used to be the Jolly Green Giant? Openstreetmap doesn't have every unit number marked at the moment.

It'd be helpful if they painted on the roofs of industrial estate buildings so that aerial mappers and GPSers could find their way around more effectively.

    Yep

"Let's hope that they kept the wee Jolly Green Giant metal bar out front."
