  1. I rather like this - paid for from the £2 coin piggy bank I've got at home, even better. The wind and waterproofness shall be tested tomorrow at the Scottish Cyclocross Champs I fear...

Look outside. Let's hope it also functions as a snowcheetah.

@wingpig, yep, same here in EH9, about 1cm lying on street.

1 week later arriving than last year - not surprising, its been baltic.

Very dark here in Eskbank. Just had a hail shower. No snow yet.

@Anth - Looks good you went for the less bright one [this is true not sarcasm]. I bought the Ardbeg Whisky one for my pal down south [he might never use it except up here]. Price good [compared with foska equivalent]. Obviously pricier than a plain one but made in Scotland I believe. Douglas at thecyclejersey.com very good on the customer service [notice to anyone considering purchase the sizes are wrong on the website but about to change once all the previous snug sizes and colours have been sold].

Douglas keen on any suggestions for products. I thought Williams Bros beer and Fentimans Ginger Beer. Douglas negotiating with Sunday Post [or struggling with this - I would buy an Oor Wullie top or a Broons top for definite].

White stuff seems to have fallen as hail higher up eg Balerno/Eskbank and snow in town.

There was about a centimetre of snow up at the summit of EH10. but I think it's melting in the balmy 0.9ºC temperature.

    @anth, windcheater?

    or (old) Windcheetah?

Product testing has found a slight incompatibility with low-slung homeboy baggie shorts. My suggestion of biblongs to cover the lower back was met with a snort of derision!

I hope my Zymes don't do that. Perhaps there's enough for a belt left in the piggy bank.

    Posted 12 years ago #
  15. Yeah, those tab things at the side just aren't as good as a belt - also, I think the cycling jersey I was wearing was riding up, and that was pulling the rest. So should manage to stop this happening!

  16. And thinking on it - I do actually have some biblongs!!! Hmmm, not on the bike tomorrow, but might test that out on Tuesday.

It looks a bit wee. Like it's a little short on the arms. It's a nice site that thecyclejersey.com but they need to start making stuff in size jumbo.

    Posted 12 years ago #
  18. The arms are fine actually, it's the one bit I was worried about. That's the XL size, I think they do an XXL. They actually emailed with what the actual measurements were before mailing so that I could confirm the size - not sure they're bang on yet, but what I can say is that it's lovely and cosy, without being too warm, and kept out the rain AND the wind without me getting clammy. Let's see what Tuesday brings...

  19. And actually, looking at the photie again I think Kappers has hit on the actual issue - I'm hanging my backside out the shorts like I'm some sort of hippity-hopper.

Their XXL wouldn't even get close. It's a weird world where you qualify as extra large. Not even large but EXTRA large.

    Posted 12 years ago #
  21. s'cos I'm 6'3" with monkey-arms. If this was Italian-made I'd likely be an XXXL! The first photo is good for sleeve length though. Nicely at the wrist, and rumpled showing extra length available. Plus no low-haning troos...

I'm 6'3" too. Maybe they should call XL extra long to differentiate from extra round.

    Posted 12 years ago #
  23. Hah! I've seen the blips - Extra Long will be all that's required!

@Instography - once they get rid of all the sizes in all the designs [any time now] the website will switch to more standard sizing reflecting that the new windcheetah is a bit bigger in each size then it was when they first had it made. thecyclejersey.com is a small scottish company and they are excellent on the customer care.

I hope I find a Bakfiets / £2,000 Roberts custom steel frame bike / £120 Rapha top / cycling holiday to Kyrgyzstan in my stocking!

But will settle for a multi tool :)

I thought Anth might appreciate: "Their jeans are anatomically designed for cycling with a seamless crotch and reflective print inside the pedalling leg"

I once had to experimentally test the tyre-lever function of my Topeak Alien when my tyre levers weren't nearby. It did the levering bit OK but couldn't hook to the spokes and therefore threatened to go pinging off like an Allen-keyed ninja star.

Personally I pedal with both legs!
