Having accidentally stirred things up in another thread (it really wasn't my intention), I wonder what are considered to be positive images of cycling?

"Having accidentally stirred things up"
It was more that you gave the opportunity to look at things locally. As you know from the MULTI Cycle Chic thread, there are now lots of Cycling Chic sites around world - but not in Edinburgh.
"I wonder what are considered to be positive images of cycling?"
Now that is a great question.
Your three examples are, in there own way, stereotypes!
(Maybe you are concentrating on headgear...)
This could be an interesting thread!

As fellow stirrer I should probably contribute :)
All three? perhaps less so the third one, but hey at least the green man wasn't on.
Any way where's the lycra dude? Discriminating against roadies now ;) (joke)
I think the important thing is that people are free to chose and not have any one leaning on them. If people feel that they are under pressure to confirm to a certain standard they might just not bother with a very positive change.

This isn't the greatest photo (one from Saturday), but you get the idea.

Here, in complete contrast, is another positive image (not sure if anyone looks chic!?)
I have also set up a new Flickr Group - which is probably one too many!

How abut this one:
One of them is me. I don't know who the other one was. It was in the 1994 Pedal the Parks day and then used for this leaflet later in the year. It's now in the Strathclyde Cycling Campaign archive.

"One of them is me."
I thought was it Lou Reed and Princess Margaret in some sort of time shift.

@chdot, actually I wasn't "concentrating on headgear", I just wanted to pick three resent photos, but looking at then now I see what you mean. It is just accidental they the have three different styles.

@steveo, I have two pictures of the same cyclist (the third one above) and he is jumping the red light in both directions, this is obviously a habit.

"It is just accidental"

My daughter and a friend when they were 13. Hacking about muddy paths in Perthshire. Cycling 'cause it's fun and not exclusive of other activities. Hope this doesn't cause a Cycling Chic or helmet debate!

Pair of chic dogs?

Looks like designer mud too.

What's a positive image of cycling?
Someone on a bike.

That's just too simple... ;-) *
Also wondered... what's a negative image of cycling? Think that may link to the 'what annoys you about other cyclists' thread.
* That's like one these tweet answers!

The phrase "Chicken and egg" springs to mind.

Is the "Beauty scheme tackles low girl cyclist numbers" a better approach?
