Thank you for responding to the recent Scottish Government consultation on proposals for a new Climate Change Bill.
The consultation analysis report, produced by an independent contractor, has now been published and is available at the following link:
http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2017/12/8859
We have also published the reports of events held as part of the consultation process and these can be found at the following link:

The Scottish Government will provide its response to the full range of consultation activities in the new year. As the Bill progresses, updates will be published on the Bill page of our website at the link above.

Dear coalition,
Further to my email this morning, I can confirm that the Scottish Government has today published its Climate Bill. It is bad news I'm afraid - it does not go any further than the draft which we saw pre-consultation.
The Bill does not set a net zero target, though the Scottish Government is claiming is does (it merely contains a statement that they could do this at some point).
Here is the SCCS press release: http://bit.ly/2kmdwOU
We have tweeted about it so please do retweet and then later today do your own social media about this (in line with what we are saying) https://twitter.com/sccscot
Here's a link to the Bill itself: http://www.parliament.scot/parliamentarybusiness/Bills/108483.aspx
And here is the Scottish Government's press release, which we consider to be very misleading: https://news.gov.scot/news/commitment-to-net-zero-greenhouse-gas-emissionsI'll be back in touch later on,
Gail

Energy policy is largely none of the Scottish Government's business but it's still heartening to hear them saying things even if they aren't doing anything, or are even doing counter-productive things like making the A9 a dual carriageway.
When the Scottish Government petitions the UK government to shut down the North Sea oil and gas fields I'll believe that this is something they are taking seriously. That would require answering questions like: how will IWRATS heat his porridge?

Oh man. That graph was depressing enough before I realised the y-axis is the growth rate of CO2 concentration rather than just CO2 concentration.

@Frenchy
Sorry, should come with a trigger warning but what could that warning reasonably say?
