Dunno if it was prompted by this thread but as I was exiting the top of the innocent tunnel I spotted the bike station crew retrieving their fleet of paper bicycles from the seekret bunker..

CC Is there anywhere in Edinburgh where people can try out a Paper Bicycle?
NEWS: Laid Back Bikes will become a dealer for Edinburgh as I think the Paper Bicycle is a great design with lots of options. I don't really sell any solo uprights so it's good to have one that can fill lots of niches. I'm also big fan of hub brakes as they are used on ICE trikes. Hub gears already seem popular on Helios but having hub lighting with internal cabling makes for a very usable bike.
Demo bike should arrive soon although I'm sure Bike Station would be happy for people to have a look at theirs.

Interestingly (possibly) the Paper Bicycle takes a lot from my experience with both recumbents and folding bicycles.
Its kind of a folding bicycle without the hinges, specifically the long seatmast and one size fits all side of things. And its low centre of gravity, comfort, nimble handling and pedalling stiffness feeds from my experiences hooning around with my bum inches from the ground.
I am also a closet rider of old Moultons, and I see this as a simplification of the very original Moulton concept of a universal bike.

Took a look at the flickr stream and the website. Looks very nice. Glad to hear Laidback's expanding his range. But I don't get why its called a 'paper bicycle'. Did I miss something?

Not sure if much has changed in 10 years for ‘made in Scotland/UK’.

Located in Campia (not far from Oliveira de Frades, a town famous for bikes), a group of investors from Portugal, Germany, and Taiwan launched the firm in 2018.
The company believe manufacturing of hi-tech bicycle components is poised to return to Europe, after decades of supply from firms in China and Taiwan.
Emre Ozgunes joined Carbon Team in 2019, hired as a general manager for the new company after years of experience in the Portuguese bike sector.
Originally from Turkey, he worked as a factory floor employee in a bicycle company in central Portugal, where he learned the trade.
