Some good suggestions/links on my thread about wanting to buy a folder :)

Folders are great! I'm enjoying my wee Raleigh. It's nothing special, but having made a few small enhancements it's now a reasonable little machine.

I'd love to have a Moulton or a Bike Friday. Can't justify the outlay right now, plus nowhere to store another bike: except possibly seperated and packed in a case...

that Dawes Clubman looks like their answer to Genesis Croix de Fer I would like one of them. Was in pub with colleague last night who acquired one from a workshop style shop in darkest Fife for £800. I think that is a bargain for that particular vehicle.

But gembo, discs! I've heard your vocal opinion on the aesthetics of discs on a road-style bike!

@TwoWheels I note that the single Speed Ridgeback folding bike (basically a re-badged Dahon) is only a 100 quid now...

(No, I'm not representing the seller!)

    'reached n' HA!

Ive cut the stable down to two bikes, the crosser is at home, the bent with me but when I get back I have serious expansion plans. The list goes something like

    paper bike
    folder
    beater
    folding bent
    bent trike
bakfeitz (although I already have a great trailer)
    carbon racer
    penny

notice the lack of tourer or mountain bike, gotta leave room for seconds!

In fact the list for bents is pretty mental.

    No-Com
    Grasshopper
    Gaucho
    ICE
    velomobile
carbon highracer (just to play with the roadies)
    LWB monster

yes Kappers - indeed the colleague struggled to get the words 'disc brakes' out - to me an abomination but druidh had all the counter arguments

Picked up my Crossroads from The Bike Chain yesterday. They have converted it from being nightmare Nexus 8 hub gear failure into a single speed look-a-like with a 3 speed Sturmey Archer set up - took it along the north edinburgh path to muirhouse then up to Roseburn and eventually to Balerno. It is a heavy bike - but enjoyable to ride and hopefully robust and low maintennance now it no longer has nexus 8 hubgears, looks very straightforward. I was bowling along saying hello to all and sundry with a big cheesy grin, despite the rain. Will be in the Pentlands marshalling the Triathlon on it this Tues evening. I am at The Howe blowing a whistle.

I’ve always had just one bike – never felt the need for more than one, save for lately with the purchase of the Madsen.

and finally arrived at the bikes I still have today. A 1999 Univega Modo Vincere and a Marin Juniper Trail (which now has an Xtracycle conversion). Toss in a tall bike, a cheap fixed gear, and a polo bike and there is very little room in my garage.

Here's one that I sold earlier....

Being sold by (former?) ERC member. Ideal opportunity to get one - although I'd fit BB7s now.

LB, is that bike's owner who I think it is?

There's a Fujin SL for sale up in Aberdeen I think, too, mentioned in Velovision. I really really really don't need a Fujin, or a Paper Bicycle, or a Surly LHT, or a Quest velocimobile. :-/

"I really really really don't need"

    This thread isn't about need.

That's alright, ch, I'm already at (n=5) and have no more garage space.

Ah! I simply need a bigger garage! :-D

Asked my wife if i could buy the recumbent, she said I could fill the living room with bikes.... I'm not sure if she was being sarcastic.

    N+1 strikes again!

    N+1 strikes again!

Latest addition to the collection: a 1990s Raleigh Pioneer Trail. An early hybrid. 700c wheels, Reynolds 501 CrMo frame, MTB gears and bars, 18 speed transmission including Shimano SIS thumb shifters.

Previous owner hardly used it, maybe done 50 miles in 15 years. Sitting in his garage the rest of the time. Tyres still look like new. Bought yesterday evening for beer money. Rode it back from Penicuik, very comfy ride, brakes good, gear indexing quite crisp mostly. Needs mudguards, slicker tyres, maybe nicer pedals, rear rack, perhaps swap the straight bars for either drops or north road bars.

Currently sitting in the stair, but not for long: went to see a lock up garage yesterday evening too. Get the keys on Friday. and will finally have somewhere to put my bike stuff, tools, etc. and work on them properly.

The only risk is my bike collection will now start in earnest: but it will be so much fun!

    Next on the wish list:
    - Bike Friday, Airnimal, Dahon Speed TR or similar.
    - 'Classic' steel framed drop bar racer.
    - Kiddyback tandem
    - Long tail cargo bike/Xtracycle

Alkso can finally build up my 'expedition tourer' from the old Tange MTB frame I've been working on.

FleaBay madness has got me bad. Picked up this BSA 20 shopper in quite good nick for not much. Not sure whether to just keep it as a runaround and guest bike or 'hop it up' Sheldon Brown style?
